When we set off as parents on this adventure with two boys aged 11 and 14, we had to convince the insurance company that we could handle a boat larger than we had ever owned, driven or even been on before... we had to organize home schooling... put our things in storage and get many boxes to the boat (and then into the boat)... and we had to set out on an adventure in locations that we knew very little about, from the Intracoastal Waterway through The Bahamas to The Caribbean. The footage of remote sailing destinations and the cruising information on these disks is the result of that extended voyage.

Many of the challenges we encountered when setting out are standard issues that most people have to approach with trial and error. These disks will help you to plan everything from effective refrigeration, onboard electrical power, the best routes, and the most pristine beaches, to getting you, your stuff and your boat there in the first place.

Lots of people have The Dream to go cruising. If you are like we were, you may be wondering about how to even start... How large of a boat is required? Doesn't it pitch (and heel) on ocean passages?
